In our last post we looked at the Enso Muscle Roller. Which is a must if you are interested in quick muscle recovery. Today we tackle something that most serious lifers stay away from “Home workout programs”. Normally these types of workouts never make the grade in a lifters world. However there are two programs out there in our opinion that can be added variation to enhance your training.

If you are someone who wants to workout at home and avoid going to the gym every day, there are really only two options that are worth checking out. Both the P90X3 and Insanity programs are perfect for those that are limited on time and space, but still want to get in an excellent workout everyday to stay in shape or even work towards a healthier lifestyle.

When you start to ask around about both of these programs, you’ll likely hear die-hard fans that swear by both, which can make it difficult for you to decide which is best for you. To make things a bit easier, here is a look at how both program works and which might be best for you to consider.

P90X3 Overview

p90x3

We’ve been big fans of the P90X program for quite some time. Tony Horton really knows his stuff and he introduces each of his programs in a way that is easy to understand and follow, and you can get great results if you stick to what’s suggested.

The idea behind P90X3 is to help you shred weight and get into the perfect shape for strutting around your bathing suit at the beach. But even if you don’t want to work for results that you can show off, you’ll still be incredibly pleased with how well this routine will improve your overall health, including your cardiovascular system and muscle strength.

In order to commit to P90X3, you’re going to have to give it your all for the next 90 days. The good news is that unlike previous programs that took anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour, P90X3 only requires that you give 30 minutes for each exercise routine. This means no more excuses for not finding the time to workout, as anyone can do this program before work, during their lunch break, or even before they go to bed at night.

P90x3 Price

P90X3 comes with four different options to choose from. The Basic Kit is around $140, and it offers 16 workouts and a calendar for each routine, as well as a nutrition guide and intro DVD. The Deluxe Kit is $239 and it has everything that the Basic Kit offers, except it also includes 3 B-Line resistance bands and also 1 month of E&E help online.

The next step up is the Ultimate Kit, which also includes the P90X Chin Up Bar and Beachbody Jump Mat. Finally, the P90X3 Challenge Pack offers all of the workout DVDs and fitness guides, as well as a 30 day supply of Shakeology and a 30 day VIP team Beachbody club membership.

Insanity Overview

insanity

If you have tried P90X before and didn’t like the results you got, or if what you read above doesn’t interest you, then consider Insanity instead. Insanity is meant to be one of the most challenging and difficult cardio training programs you’ve ever done, which in turn will give you amazing results that you’ll be incredibly pleased with.

With Insanity, all you need is your tennis shoes, the DVD, and a space to train. The program sends you through a progressively challenging workout that will have you improving your athletic prowess in just 60 days. After your program is complete, you’ll look back at how easy the beginning stages were and be impressed with how much more you can now accomplish.

Just because Insanity doesn’t offer all of the bells and whistles that P90X has, that doesn’t mean that you aren’t still getting an amazing workout. It just so happens that it’s a much simpler process, which is ideal for those that want to quickly workout and get committed to a workout plan.

In addition, each program is incredibly easy to follow and understand, so anyone can do them and begin the process of getting into truly great shape.

Value To Advanced Athletes

lifterEven if you don’t find yourself in the same category as the people referred to in the section above, you still will benefit from both P90X3 and Insanity workout programs.

If you are a CrossFit athlete, Olympic weightlifter, or you simply like to be your best athletically, these programs will help you increase your cardio, improve flexibility, and also allow you to build supplementary muscles that other exercises can’t.

If you already have a full schedule of training with other workouts, adding P90X3 or Insanity will only further your athletic prowess.

Conclusion

In truth, you can’t go wrong with either of these systems. It’s really going to come down to what you prefer and how you want to get started. If you want the complete guidance of Tony Horton’s program, then consider how P90X3 can be the routine that changes your life. However, if you want something that is a bit more simply and still provides great results, Insanity is the route to go.
